Digital Image Steganography with Error Correction on Extracted Data

چکیده

The hiding capacity (HC), imperceptibility, and security are the 3 important quality measures for a steganography technique. While stego-image is on transit internet, hidden data may be changed because of various reasons. existing techniques does neither focus detecting errors in nor to correct data. Therefore, this article brings forward technique, wherein error detection correction can performed at recipient side. original image logically sliced into 2×2 disjoint blocks. From these 4 pixels, quotients least significant bits (LSBs) generated. Each quotient decimal value 7 most (MSBs) pixel. In every block 8 camouflaged. bits, redundant computed using modified Hamming code. one bit camouflaged by either differencing (QVD) or substitution. If camouflaging QVD, then indicator set to1. Otherwise, if substitution, 0. remaining along with stored LSBs pixels. At receiver side, could extracted, procedure applied 1-bit over extracted from block. experimental reports it concluded that retrieved detected corrected without reducing HC increasing distortion.
